Libri – innovative growth for over 80 years
About us
Libri, formed by Georg Lingenbrink in Hamburg in 1928, has played a leading role in book wholesaling for more than 80 years now. Over the years Libri – run from the very start by Hamburg-based businesspeople – has grown from a regional book wholesaler into an internationally operating media service provider for the book trade, and has steadily consolidated its position within the German book market.
Libri’s distribution centre in Bad Hersfeld showcases the company’s status as a technological frontrunner in logistics for the bookselling trade, and bears witness to the growing importance of book wholesalers for the industry. With this, the world’s largest distribution centre for small-scale logistics, Libri also meets the book market’s future requirements as to quality, speed, reliability, and both breadth and depth of product and service range.
Libri sees its mission as supplying the trade both cost-effectively and speedily, providing blanket distribution. It also regards itself as a service provider with the business management expertise to help booksellers optimize their operative procedures.
Libri is working continually, and with great vision, on expanding and optimizing its range of products and services for the book trade, so that it can consistently keep up with market developments and meet customer requirements.
Thriving together – the Libri Group:
